Following the recent announcement of its Partner Racecourse scheme, the Horsemen’s Group is delighted to announce that Leicester Racecourse has improved its commitment to prize-money for the current Flat/Turf season, achieving the status of Partner Racecourse in the process.

This change in status has been brought about after Leicester committed to meeting the three benchmarks required to achieve the Partner classification. Previously rated as an Associate Partner, Leicester will now qualify for staging a HG Bonus race and races run under the Yearling Bonus Scheme.

William Haggas, President of the National Trainers Federation, said: “What fantastic news that Leicester Racecourse has increased its commitment to prize-money enabling it to meet the HG benchmarks for a Partner Racecourse.”

Alan Morcombe, Chief Executive of the Horsemen’s Group, said: “We have been in regular contact with Leicester’s management over the last few months, and are delighted with this outcome. The upgrade to Partner status means that Leicester join a group of Partner racecourses who will now be eligible to participate in the HG Bonus scheme and the Yearling Bonus scheme and wish them a very successful season.”
