Join in with the Epsom Open Day and Family Festival

Epsom Open Day high speed Shetland PoniesThe Epsom Racehorse Trainer's Open Day will be on Sunday August 28. Horses from Epsom training yards will be shown at exercise on the gallops from 9-10am, enhanced by insightful interviews with local trainers and vets.

From 10am – 1pm, a number of the training yards will then be opened to the public, providing the opportunity to see behind the scenes, to view the horses and meet the staff. There will be extra attractions at some of the stables, including foals and youngstock, and refreshments available. A complimentary bus service will run from Derby Stables Road to the gallops and around the stables.

On Monday August 29, the attractions that have in previous years taken place on the afternoon of the open day will instead be hosted at the Epsom Downs Family Funday raceday, featuring pony rides, a parade of ex-racehorses sponsored by the ROA, a Shetland Pony Derby, and hot shoeing demonstration. Some of the Epsom-trained horses that were seen in the yards on the previous day will be running.

To complete the 3-day family festival, there is the Summer Raceday at Epsom on Tuesday August 30, with free entry to all.
