ROA Partnerships

The ROA has been running Racing Partnerships under its banner since 2000. The partnership horses have seen much success with over 30 races won while amassing over £350,000 in prize money. Pictured is Non So winning the Racing Post Plate at the 2006 Cheltenham Festival.

Run by a dedicated partnership manager, the ROA Partnerships offer a capital share within an all-inclusive cost structure. All partnerships are headed up by an ROA Council member, who is on hand to guide the partnership and give expert advice. These partnerships aim to embody all the ROA aims and objectives, giving new and experienced owners a combination of great service, enjoyment and all the thrills of racehorse ownership.

If you would like to know more about the ROA Racing Partnerships, or would be interested in joining a new partnership please contact the ROA on 020 7152 0200 or email info@roa.co.uk

Partnerships Update

ROA Arkle Partnership

Former Council member Peter Deal heads up this partnership which has two horses in training with Venetia Williams.

Quartz de Thaix, a six-year-old, began the season in Beginners Chases, running respectably on each start. He finished second three times, and third once. A slight mistake in his first Novice Chase saw him switched back to hurdles in April, when he delighted his owners with a double. The first, which was his third career win, was a five-length win over an extended two and a half miles at Cheltenham in the Stan James.com Handicap Hurdle. Just over a week later he travelled up to Perth and, defying a penalty, won the BeLucky@StanJames.com Handicap Hurdle over the same trip by four lengths. He was ridden by Aidan Coleman in each of his races during the season.

M’Lord Bishop, also a six-year-old, and a full brother to the partnership’s previous hurdle and chase winner Indalo, began his career with two runs in bumpers this season, before progressing to novice hurdles. He ran perfectly respectably, with form figures of 3555 and ended the season needing one more run to qualify for handicaps.

ROA Racing Partnership V

ROA Council member Professor David Silk heads up the partnership, which owns the five-year-old mare R de Rien Sivola. She made a promising start last summer, in the care of Paul Nicholls, winning a Beginners’ Chase over 2m 4f at Uttoxeter by 19 lengths on her seasonal debut. She was then placed second in a chase at Newton Abbot over 2m 5½f, before being beaten a short head at Bangor in a novice chase over an extended 2m 4f. Unfortunately, R de Rien Sivola was found to have suffered a tendon injury in September. She has had to have the rest of the season off, and it is hoped that she will go back into training in the coming months.
