TOTESPORT OWNER-SPONSORSHIP SCHEME
TOTESPORT has agreed to extend their deal with the ROA to sponsor Owners' silks. The deal, worth £200,000 to members, is broken down into four separate schemes, each of which runs for 12 months.
The benefits to ROA members who join the Totesport Owner-sponsorship scheme are:
· Owners who secure sponsorship for their racing activities can register for VAT
· Owners can reclaim VAT on the purchase price of their horse (if applicable) and this can be claimed up to three years after the purchase of the horse
· Owners can also reclaim VAT on their racing expenses – including training fees, transport costs, veterinary fees and jockeys fees – backdated up to six months
· A sponsorship payment of £25 per horse is made to the Owner upon joining, with an additional £75 is paid to the Owner at the end of the scheme provided the horse has run in Britain
· If the horse runs in a Class 1 race in Britain during the period a one-off payment of £300 is made
· Totesport will cover the cost of producing their logo patches and fixing them to your silks
Owners with an interest of at least 50% of a horse can register for VAT. In the case of a partnership horse, where an owner has less than a 50% share, the racing partnership may register as a VAT partnership. The Totesport scheme fully complies with the BHA Code of Conduct on Sponsorship.
Sponsored horses need to carry the totesport logos on the chest and collar of the jockey colours. There are no provisions for Totesport branding on attendants clothing or horse rugs.
Upon receipt of a signed agreement form we will confirm acceptance on to the scheme and ask a member to arrange for the colours to be carried on the sponsored horse to be sent to the following address: Horse Racing Enterprises, 1 Haslemere Road, Emsworth, Hampshire PO10 8PL.
